On April 8th, The Linley Group held a one-day seminar on designing security into networking systems. The seminar was intended to help engineers or engineering managers who are responsible for designing network-security equipment or designing security into switch/routers or other equipment.

Bob Wheeler, senior analyst at The Linley Group, began the program with an overview of network-security technologies (e.g., VPN, DoS, firewall, IDS/IPS, antivirus), market trends, and silicon trends. The remainder of the day included talks and panel discussions covering a broad range of security-design topics including VPN/firewall integration, high-speed encryption, and content inspection.

We had an outstanding lineup of presenters, including:

>
Steve Singer, Worldwide Systems Engineering Manager, SafeNet
Building Trust in your Network Infrastructure using Secure Platform Solutions
>

Rajesh "RV" Vaidheeswarran, Director of Application Software Engineering and Security Architect, Netronome
New Architectures for 20Gbps Network Security Applications

>

Srini Addepalli, Chief Architect and Freescale Fellow, Software Products Division, Freescale
